The Print: Hundreds show up at Delhi event to celebrate an Irish author few can understand

We’re delighted to be featured in The Print in a thoughtful article by Debdutta Chakraborty on our Bloomsday 2026 celebrations at the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, presented by Kaivalya Plays in collaboration with the Embassy of Ireland in India.

The article captures the remarkable turnout for the event and reflects on the enduring relevance of James Joyce’s work more than a century after it was written. Through our immersive dramatic reading of Counterparts from Dubliners, alongside performances, conversations, and cultural exchange, we explored how Joyce’s writing can be experienced as a living, shared encounter rather than a distant literary text.

The piece also highlights discussions around literature, theatre, and the role of AI in the arts, including how new technologies can help audiences engage more deeply with literary worlds while preserving the integrity of the original work.

Thank you to Debdutta Chakraborty and The Print for covering the event, and to the hundreds of attendees who joined us in celebrating Bloomsday. We look forward to continuing our James Joyce Immersive programme with future performances, workshops, school outreach initiatives, and literary events that bring Joyce’s work to new audiences.
