Kaivalya Plays has pioneered theatre and improvisation approaches to climate change communication and environmental sustainability, combining rigorous scientific information with creative, emotionally resonant storytelling. Since 2022, in collaboration with the Danish Cultural Institute, American Center New Delhi and English Theatre Milan, the organization has reoriented theatre methodology toward climate communication and sustainability education. Programs use improvisation to generate new perspectives on climate crisis, break down silos between scientific and creative thinking, and help participants develop agency and hope despite urgent global challenges. Sessions address specific aspects: air pollution communication, sustainability practices in corporate and community contexts, arts-based activism and climate justice storytelling. All facilitators bring both theatrical expertise and substantive knowledge of climate science and sustainability frameworks, ensuring content is both creatively engaging and scientifically grounded.
