Material Witness | Generative projection and mapping, continuous 15-minute loop

A single surface that never stops becoming something else. Leaf veins loosen into a galaxy, tighten into a fingerprint, spread into brick, ink, sand, marble, skin. No cuts, no fades. Thirty textures emerging from the same small set of underlying forms, each one only a different reading of the same material.

Projected onto the stilt area of the Sanatan IILM Centre for Arts and Ideas as part of the opening night of Close | Far (Lean In, Step Back), a new exhibition at the Sameksha Gallery.

Curated by Yamini Telkar, the exhibition Close | Far brings together artworks by Kavita Nayar, Vanita Gupta, Savya Jain and Aman Kumar Bavariya. It is an enquiry into scale: how an artwork asks you to lean in or step back, and what distance does to meaning.

The opening also marked the Sameksha Gallery's first anniversary of operations. The exhibition is on view at the Sameksha Gallery Aug 8 to Sept 12, 11:30am to 6:30pm.

Material Witness, conceptualized and designed by @gauravnijjer with technical assistance by @leontrotsky73 @varoon.anand. Presented by Kaivalya Plays.
