OPEN AIR IMPROV JAM

Open Air Improv Jam is a public, live performance laboratory set in the open space of Leisure Valley Park, Gurugram.

Facilitated by Kaivalya Plays, this 2-hour session invites participants to explore improvisation as an act of responsiveness — to space, to audience, and to each other. Through guided games and spontaneous scenes, the jam transforms everyday public space into a site of creative echange.

This event is free and open to all. No prior theatre experience is required. You may participate actively or simply observe as scenes unfold in real time. What This Is

This is a free, open-air improvisation session facilitated by Kaivalya Plays.

It is designed as a welcoming, low-pressure space for spontaneous play — no scripts, no preparation, and no theatre experience required.

There is absolutely no pressure to perform. What to Expect

• A short welcome and group agreements at the start

• Guided improv games and spontaneous scenes

• Light movement — please wear comfortable clothing

• A respectful, supportive environment

Improvisation can feel vulnerable at first — that’s completely normal. You are never required to do anything that makes you uncomfortable. Participation is always by choice.

As this is a public park setting, please be mindful of your personal belongings and dress comfortably for the weather. 📍 Location

Please aim to arrive by 3:45 PM so we can begin as close to 4:00 PM as possible.

⏰ Timing

 The jam is scheduled from 4:00 PM to approximately 6:15 PM.

The session will run for around 2 hours, allowing for a slightly relaxed start as participants gather. We will wrap up by 6:15 PM at the latest, as another event begins in the park at 6:30 PM. About Kaivalya Plays

Kaivalya Plays is a New Delhi-based performing arts organisation led by Varoon P. Anand (Artistic Director) and Gaurav Singh Nijjer (General Manager). Since 2012, the organisation has built transcultural collaborations across India and internationally. Our work spans devised and multilingual theatre, improvisation, education, and community-based arts initiatives, with a strong focus on accessibility and creative confidence.
