ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Join Mumbai-based actor, model and performing artist Priyasha Bhardwaj (featured in Saas Bahu aur Flamingo, Aarya, Call my Agent, National TVCs and other film, TV and OTT projects) in a practical, hands-on workshop for actors looking to elevate their auditions, self-tapes and preparation for screen-based performances. Through interactive exercises, participants will learn how to interpret scripts, record introduction videos, create self-tapes and craft their presence on the camera. 

After this workshop, participants will be able to: 

  • Interpret audition scripts quickly and effectively 
  • Create a dynamic, memorable introduction video 
  • Record self-tapes that stand out from the crowd
  • Craft characters that bring out the best from your lines

ABOUT YOUR FACILITATOR

Priyasha Bhardwaj is a Mumbai-based actor, model and a performing artist who has predominantly worked in various web series. She was last seen in Disney+Hotstar’s ‘Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo’ where she portrayed the character of ‘Young Savitri’, (Savitri played by Dimple Kapadia). Priyasha's breakthrough role came in the National Award-winning director Ram Madhvani's debut series, "Aarya (2020)." In this critically acclaimed and Emmy-nominated show, she portrayed the character of Soundarya, the sister of Aarya which was played by the renowned actress Sushmita Sen. Her portrayal of Soundarya showcased her acting prowess and established her as a promising talent in the industry. Priyasha has also featured in Mirzapur 2 (2020), Jehanabad (2023), Netflix show Call My Agent (2021), amongst others. On stage, she has been lauded for her clowning performance in the improvised non-verbal play ‘Winter’s Egg’. She plays ‘Mary’ in the ongoing theater production ‘Kaun Salim, Kiski Anarkali’ with BlackBox Theatre Group, Mumbai. Her upcoming screen appearances are in TVF Court Kacheri (Web Series), Mirzapur Season 3 (Web Series), Marne ke Darr se Mere Dil (Film). Priyasha has worked as a model and has featured in over 25 Television Commercials with brands. She featured in her first TVC with Deepika Padukone for Britannia Good Day. She was also a founder and partner in a choreography & events company called ‘Beyond Routine’ in which she has choreographed more than 50 HNI weddings including destination and cruise weddings. She also partnered in a film production and casting company called ‘Reviving Sparrows Films’.

ABOUT KAIVALYA PLAYS

Kaivalya Plays is a performing arts and production company led by Varoon P. Anand as its Artistic Director and Gaurav Singh Nijjer as its General Manager. Since 2012, they have worked consistently, been very noisy, and built transcultural associations across India and the world. Their artistic work includes original, devised theatre performance which are multilingual, interactive and hybrid, use technology and media on stage as well as are built using techniques of improvisational, documentary and physical theatre. Their work includes live performances, education and training, community arts programs, producing guest performances, and more. Improvisational theatre is the cornerstone of Kaivalya’s artistic practice, which they apply to arts programs focused on artistic development, language learning, mental health and wellbeing, gender and representation, multicultural performances, among other areas. They have received multiple artistic commissions and grants, such as EU MediaFutures Artist for Media grant, Goethe Institut’s Refunction and Gender Bender grants, amongst others. Their recent artistic work includes ABSURDO (2023), Mining Hate (2023), Ollantay (2022), Lifeline 99 99 (2021), Luz Negra (2020) How To Disappear Completely and Never be Found (2020), Unravel (2019), amongst others. Most recently, they received the Creativity Pioneers Fund 2023 from the Moleskine Foundation.
